This Week:

  • No School, President’s Day | Monday, February 19

  • eLearning | Tuesday, February 20 - Friday, February 23

    • This week will be a week of remote learning due to our building move.

    • The eLearning schedule for the week is

      Tuesday, 2/20: Periods 1-4

      Wednesday, 2/21: Periods 5-7

      Thursday, 2/22: Periods 1-4

      Friday, 2/23: Periods 5-7

    • Students and families will receive directions via email and Schoology for their classes no later than 8:30 AM everyday. All assignments are due at 3:30 PM for students to be counted present for that day of eLearning.

    • There will be no synchronous learning (Zoom, Google Meets).

    • UCA students are always to the Academic Dishonesty policy. A portion of the policy is copied below; the full policy can be found in the 2023-2024 Community Handbook on pages 16-18.

      Cheating, plagiarism, and the misuse of artificial intelligence (AI) are inconsistent with honest and honorable work. At UCA, we believe that both the final product and the process of learning are essential to a student’s academic progress. Because of this, all forms of academic dishonesty are detrimental toward a student’s learning and growth.

  • First day of school at UCA 2.0 | Monday, February 26

Lunch:

  • Due to our campus transition, be on the lookout for a different lunch menu coming for the last week of February into March. Parents who have already ordered lunch next week will receive a credit on the March lunch menu. If you have any questions, please email Mrs. Veldboom at aveldboom@weareuca.org. Exciting opportunities:

  • Shadow Day at Aspen Group | Is your student interested in the fields of Architecture, Interior Design, or Construction Management? Aspen Group, a design/build firm in Frankfort, Illinois that specializes in creating spaces for churches and faith-based schools, is offering a shadow day to students who are interested in these fields on Tuesday, March 5 from 11:30 AM – 2:00 PM at their Frankfort, Illinois office. It will be an opportunity to spend time with a few professionals, ask questions, and see a little bit of a “day in the life” of Architects or Construction Managers. If you or your student are interested in being considered for this Shadow Day, please email Mrs. Bootsma at cbootsma@weareuca.org by Tuesday, February 20.

  • Doodle 4 Google Competition | UCA’s Art Department is calling all artists who want to compete in this year’s Doodle 4 Google Competition! Below is the invitation from the competition:

    • For Google's 25th birthday we’re inviting K-12 students to imagine a future where anything is possible. This year’s contest welcomes new prizes and more ways to create! Enter by March 14th.

    • Win big for you and your school! This year’s prizes include $55,000 in scholarships, $50,000 in tech for your school, the winning art featured on Google.com and more.
