- Your student will be coming home today with a physical October lunch order form. Please request this form from them and read the letter for detailed information about October lunch ordering and payment.

Sweets and Treats | Thursday, September 15 at 6:00 PM at SoHo Sweets (16129 South Park Ave, South Holland, IL).
- Sweets and Treats is the evening version of Coffee & Chat for parents who work during the day/are unable to attend C&C — or just want more fellowship with other parents! It's a time to meet other parents and discuss anything on your mind about UCA. We’d love to see you there on Thursday!

- FAFSA applications open on October 1. UCA is hosting an application workshop on site to help parents with the application. If you plan to attend this event, please come with 2021 tax documents. Email Mr. Howell with questions.
Thursday, October 6 | Senior Soccer Recognition Day
- Come and cheer our soccer team and be ready to celebrate our seniors as they play soccer that afternoon at Illinois Lutheran High School in Crete (1610 Main St, Crete, IL 60417). A senior recognition and team send off will begin at 2:50 P.M. in the UCA gym. Fans encouraged to attend the game that day and cheer your Phoenix on!

Module 1 ends on September 27, which is just a few weeks away! A Progress Report of your student's grades will be sent home a week after the Module ends. Teachers have been actively grading and recording your student’s grades. If you would like to know how your student is currently doing, please reach out to their teachers directly. You can find their emails in the Community Handbook.

Please save the date for October 18th & 19th. We will be hosting Student Learning Conferences, where you will have the opportunity for personalized, sit-down conversations with your student’s teachers about how they are doing in each class. If you have more questions, please email Mrs. Bootsma.

On Friday, students were sent home with your log in credentials for Schoology (the learning management portion of PowerSchool). They were also given out last Thursday at Curriculum Night. If you did not receive your credentials, please reach out to Mrs. Bootsma.

"Brain Gains" are weekly thought prompts and activities for students to take advantage of on their walk to class or lunch time. Click here to see this week’s Brain Gains!

Glow Stick Dance Party tickets will be going on sale next week! The Glow Stick Dance Party is Saturday, October 8th from 7-10PM in the gym at UCA (South Park). Light refreshments will be served. Tickets are $10.00/student, which includes refreshments, glow sticks, a DJ, and a night of fun! Students are allowed to bring one non-UCA guest/date, if they choose. Any outside guest attending must be between 14-19-years-of-age, and a permission slip must be filled out ahead of the dance. To ask for a permission slip, or if you have any other questions/comments, email Mrs. Veldboom.
- As a reminder, our annual Bond-fire is the night before the dance on Friday, October 7, at First Reformed Church (15924 South Park Ave, South Holland) from 6-8PM.

UCA’s first-ever overnight Faith Formation retreat will be at Winter Jam at Silver Birch Ranch in White Lake, WI on February 3-5, 2023.
- The max number of UCA students we can take is 60. Deposits are being made, so while there is still space, it is best not to delay!
- This is open to ALL grade levels (9th-12th).
- Sign up is first come, first served.
- The cost is $200/student.
- Spots can be reserved by making a $50/deposit (toward the $200 cost) in the main office via cash, check, or card. The deadline to reserve your student’s spot is November 1, 2022.
- Final payment is due January 9, 2023.
This will be a wonderful opportunity for your student(s) to have their faith deepened, be spiritually revived, and have lots of fun with their classmates and other high school students from all over the Midwest! If you have any questions regarding this retreat, please email Mr. Harrison.
