Community News:

  • FUN RUN | “The Village of South Holland is gearing up for a Fun Run 5K and they are in need of volunteers!  The Fun Run 5K is a socially distanced race where participants and volunteers are encouraged to wear fun costumes or accessories, and they’ll have some fun surprises along the course! The date for the run is Saturday, September 19th and there are approximately 15 volunteer opportunities available. The race begins at 7am and volunteers must arrive by 6am. Volunteers will receive a fun bag of goodies including a shirt, long runner socks, a water bottle, sunglasses, and more.   • FREE FOOD | Generous donors have given Pastor Alfonzo Surrett (board member of UCA) boxes of food to be given away. If you or a family you know would like a box of food, please contact Ms. Grant at ggrant@weareuca.org or call the main office: (708) 980-1040.

  • YOU ARE INVITED | South Suburbs Christians Against Poverty (CAP) Debt Help Center Launch

    Americans are struggling. Millions are unemployed or underemployed. As incomes shrink and debt grows, so does stress, anxiety, and fear. Christians Against Poverty (CAP) are here to help. CAP provides professional, confidential, credit counseling to anyone who needs it - regardless of religious beliefs, background or lifestyle. Clients will receive counsel in the privacy of their own homes and will never be charged a fee for CAP’s services. With more than 24 years of experience, CAP is prepared for any situation. There is always hope!
