UCA enjoyed its first day of classes in our new building on Monday, February 26.
We’ve moved our entire operation about a mile-and-a-half southeast of our original location. We now own our building, and we’ve completely remodeled the first floor of 700 E 170th Street, which was once Holy Ghost School.
Overall, the new space is brighter, more modern, and has a more centralized layout for learning and student life. Branded walls and color choices throughout the space create a cohesive identity that’s distinctly UCA.
At our previous location, our classrooms were not uniform sizes, and they were located in separate hallways. Now, we have six full-size classrooms capable of accommodating more students, each equipped with whiteboards, projectors, and storage areas.
Beyond the classrooms, our new front office is a vast upgrade, and a staff lounge has been a much-appreciated addition among our teachers and staff. Our beautiful gym can serve multiple functions, and has a beautiful synthetic floor (our old gym floor was carpeted).
Whereas the old space often suffered in certain areas from climate control issues, our new space is equipped with a state-of-the-art HVAC system. We now also have a school-wide bell and intercom system for more unified communication.
